Latest News New Charity Trustees Wanted We are looking for new trustees... can you help? Here at Leeds Autism Services, we believe that by promoting neurodiversity and a better understanding of autism among the wider population, we can help to achieve real change in the experiences of autistic people. We aim to work with organisations within the private and public sectors to educate, enlighten and show the benefits which people on the spectrum bring to our communities. We also aim to work with businesses or service providers to make their products more accessible to people with autism thereby promoting wider acceptance, inclusion, and accessibility for autistic people. What kind of people are Leeds Autism Services looking for? We would especially love to hear from individuals with current or recent experience in: Finance or financial services with an understanding and appreciation of the charitable sector ideally in the voluntary or public sector; or Broad Commercial experience; or Experience of health and social care services at a strategic level; or Lived experience of autism and/or neurodivergence As a trustee, you will bring your experience to the role, to help identify strategic risks and support the Senior Management team to develop creative, effective and practical strategies and solutions. You will need an ability to grasp the essence of complex situations, to work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team or fellow board members and to contribute constructively to the functioning of the Board. What do the board of trustees do? Our Board of trustees have an important part to play in helping the charity to achieve its mission of ensuring autistic people are recognised, respected and supported in all areas of life. Our aim is to bring together a Board who are diverse in ideas, backgrounds, experiences, outlook and opinions.
