Some of our beneficiaries have told us they feel worried or anxious about the appearance of flags on lampposts in our communities, so we have created some easy-read information to try and explain the phenomenon.

This information also contains information and advice about discrimination and hate crime and what to do if you need support in these areas.

What Makes Us Different, Makes Us Leeds

Discrimination happens when people are treated badly or unfairly because of who they are. This can include teasing, name-calling, using stereotypes, unfair rules based on someone’s protected characteristics, or leaving people out.

Leeds City Council have information and resources available for people facing discrimination and prejudice, and for those of us who wish to promote diversity and community cohesion as part of their "What makes us different, makes us Leeds" campaign.
