AutistiCon is a FREE annual event which aims to educate, enlighten and share what it really means to be autistic.

First and foremost, AutistiCon exists to serve the autistic community, but anyone with an interest in neurodiversity is welcome.

The event caters for autistic people, families and carers, professionals, business leaders, or anyone with an interest in finding out more about autism and what it means to be autistic.

Autistic people and families / carers are more likely to face financial difficulties so we think it is vitally important that the event remains free to attend. 

Community Impact

Providing a central event which helps people to find vital support, can lead to
better opportunities and outcomes for autistic people and their families / carers, including:

• Improved access to healthcare and preventative medicine
  
  
• Improved access to education and better education outcomes
  
  
• Better access to early mental health interventions
  
  
• Better employment opportunities, and increased job retention

How will the money be spent? 

Any money raised will be held by Leeds Autism Services and ring-fenced purely to fund future AutistiCon events. 

The event costs upwards of £5000 per year to host, and expenses include things such as: 

• Venue hire
  
  
• Marketing materials
  
  
• Autism specific accessibility improvements
  
  
• Guest speaker expenses 

None of the event organisers make any money from AutistiCon, and are not paid any additional salary to put the event together. 

Any donations raised will be used solely to benefit the autistic community in our region.

Autism diagnosis continues to rise year-on-year, so our aim is to continue running the event for as long as we need to promote autism inclusion, and help reduce pressure on public services by ensuring autistic people in the Leeds area are well supported.
