Podcast - Episode 47 In this episode Craig speaks to Dr Liam Cross and Dr Gray Atherton who talk about autism, games and gaming. Both board games and online games play a vital role in developing cognitive functions, and exploring Social norms, rules and turn taking - all of which have common shared interests in the world of gaming. Liam and Gray talk about how they became involved in gaming, what drew them to games and also their shared interests with the autistic community in games, as part of a great way of integrating in society in a non-judgemental environment. Liam and Gray also talk about the functions of both board and online gaming, and how the skills being used, displayed and explored within the world of gaming, can be both directly and indirectly used as transferable skills out of the realms of gaming.
